Friends of Portland Street Response Stands with Nat

I’m honored to have the endorsement of Friends of Portland Street Response in my campaign for Portland City Council District 2. Portland Street Response has been doing essential work in our community, providing compassionate, effective alternatives to traditional policing for people experiencing mental health crises, homelessness, and other non-violent emergencies. This endorsement from the Friends of Portland Street Response means a lot to me because it shows that we share a commitment to creating a safer, more just Portland where everyone gets the care and support they need, without fear of unnecessary force or criminalization.

As we move forward, I’m excited to work alongside Friends of Portland Street Response to continue supporting more humane, community-centered approaches to public safety. We need to keep expanding programs like theirs that focus on de-escalation, care, and connection rather than punishment. Together, we can build a city where all Portlanders feel safe, supported, and valued. I’m deeply grateful for their support and look forward to what we can achieve together.
